Dr. David Stat

I graduated from Stanford University’s undergraduate program in 2005 with a major in Human Biology. Afterwards, rather than going directly to medical school, I pursued another interest of mine - software and entrepreneurship. I worked for and helped start several software companies, the last of which was a bioinformatics non-profit, which ultimately rekindled my interest in medicine.

I went on to receive my M.D. from Brown University Medical School, during which time I took additional time to study traditional Eastern Medicine, including acupuncture and herbal medicine, in Beijing, as well as to pursue additional training in Tokyo. Following medical school, I completed my residency in Family Medicine at Brown, during which time I further explored my interest in complementary and alternative medicine.

My background has given me the ability to view health issues from a variety of perspectives, from traditional Western allopathic medicine to software-driven data analysis and decision making to herbal and other alternative forms of medicine.

I believe that the mind and body influence each other greatly, and that this must be considered in the treatment of any illness.
